Alginate Dressing

Medstock Alginate Dressing is a naturally derived, non-woven dressing made of 100% calcium alginate fibres that effectively absorbs exudate and provides a moist healing environment.

    • Medstock Alginate dressing consists of an innovative blend of Mannuronic and Guluronic acid fibres with high dry and wet tensile strength which helps to:
      • Absorb moderate to high levels of exudate
      • Form a moist gel over wound bed for optimal wound healing
      • Alleviate pain to wound by hydrating and protecting nerve endings
      • Reduces infection risk by trapping bacteria between fibres
      • Conform to wound contours
      • Reduce foreign body retainment
    • Suitable for wounds with moderate to high exudate
    • Ulcers, sinuses and open cavities, and surgical wounds where exudate exists
    • Superficial to partial thickness burns
    • Skin donor sites
    • Superficial to partial thickness burns
    • Lightly exuding wounds may cause the dressing to adhere. If the dressing is not easily removed, use saline to moisten, then remove
    • Do not use if known allergy to calcium alginate

Amorphous Hydrogel Tube

Medstock Hydrogel is an amorphous, clear gel with excellent adhesion and absorption capabilities. It contains propylene glycol which helps attract and lock in moisture to drier wound environments whilst absorbing excessive exudates. This assists in facilitating gentle autolytic debridement of devitalised tissue which promotes early epithelialisation and reduces wound healing time.

    • Medical supervision is required if blood perfusion deficiency or diabetic foot ulcer are present
    • Remove Medstock Hydrogel prior to radiation treatment, x-ray, ultrasonic therapy, thermotherapy and microwave therapy

Super Absorber

Medstock Super Absorber Dressing is scientifically engineered to absorb and retain large amounts of exudate while maintaining a moist environment. This soft, comfortable dressing creates a slightly negative pressure which increases blood perfusion to the wound and accelerates healing. Being super absorbent, fewer dressing changes are required, leading to cost savings and less trauma to healing skin.

    • Medstock Super Absorber is designed to continuously absorb excess exudate away from the wound surface. This creates a negative pressure gradient, which helps to:
      • Promote healing and reduce infection risk by stimulating entry of new blood vessels, leucocytes and fibrocytes into the wound
      • Reduces the risk of maceration by drawing exudate and inflammatory products away from the wound
